Berera Radiology specialises in musculoskeletal imaging. We have a passion for diagnosing medical conditions of the bones, joints and associated soft tissue. Our state of the art equipment allows us to diagnose conditions using a wide variety of modalities, including x-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI, as well as ultrasound and CT guided injections.

What is an x-ray?

X-rays are used in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. An x-ray, also known as a radiograph, is produced by passing a small amount of radiation through the body to produce an image.

  • No preparation is required.
  • Please notify the staff if there is any chance that you may be pregnant.

How is an x-ray performed?

  • The radiographer will place you in the best position to demonstrate the area being investigated. Several views with repositioning may be required.

How long will it take?

  • Most examinations will take less than fifteen minutes.
  • The radiologist will report your images and forward the results to your referring doctor.

About our rebrand to Qscan Radiology Clinics

Berera Radiology joined the Qscan Group, one of Australia’s leading medical imaging providers 2 years ago. To mirror the growth and transformation of the company within the broader Group we have now rebranded this clinic to be known as Qscan Radiology Clinics North Hobart.

For patients you will notice new purple Qscan signage, referral pads and film bags, but otherwise there will be no change to our service. You will still be assured the same welcoming care and attention from our clinic team and recognise the same friendly faces – we will just be known by a different name.

As a part of this transition we look forward to having our patients leverage the benefits associated with being a part of a nationwide network of clinics, subspecialty Radiologists and teleradiology services into the future. We also take this opportunity to remind you about our existing Qscan Hobart PET-CT clinic merely a kilometre down the road.
